Today we worked on our zoo builds and did a great job at them. We measured the volume of them by finding the length, width, and perimeter of each enclosure. To practice solving for the volume of prisms we did a volume sort activity where we sorted prisms, dimensions and their volume.
We were lucky too start our day with our last social thinking class where we came up with a class unthinkable working in groups. It was great to see each other share ideas and communicate in great ways.
Our wolf called wander writing in close to being complete and we are very excited to get them into book format to be able to share them and read each others stories.
We have been reading "The one and only Ivan" and we have been talking a lot about the setting and characters. Today we drew a picture of the setting inside Ivan's domain in the Big Top mall.
Today in Daily 5 we got to do an unscrambler. The word was Celebration and we came up with so many different words. We are practicing our daily five stations so that we will be able to work through them and alternate each day on our own in the upcoming weeks. Today we had to put the unscrambled words into descriptive sentences and it was a great way to be able to practice our descriptive writing in a fun way. We are always able to find many names within the words too.
